Hello, Is Anyone There?

In the midst of a chaotic day, I crave silence. There are days when the cacophony of phones, keyboards, voices, and construction (just to name a few) is just too much and I want to scream.

And then there are days like today when the silence is deafening.

It happens every once in a while when the people who make up the normally booming scenery around me are just not here. It also so happens that these are the days when the phone doesn’t ring and the email is so slow that I click the update button just to make sure that the technology is still working.

I’m still working in the silence. The only clicking on the keyboard is mine. It’s easier to write without the distractions but my mind also has the tendency to drift. Some people need silence in order to find the creative spark. But, I guess I’ve learned to write, think and create in the world of chaos.

It’s not that I dislike silence. I’m just not used to it.
